A Victorian copper ale muller. Mullers were used for heating ale or wine over an open fire. This example is made from a substantial gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. It has a hollow copper handle and a rolled rim. There are some small dents in the handle and there is some solder around the handle were there has been an old repair. The tinning, to the interior, is worn so now it is only for decorative use.
