Rothschild's Copper Straining Spoon

Rothschild's Copper Straining Spoon

Code: J21831

A super quality, 19th century copper straining spoon. This is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and has a turned end to the handle which is shaped like a shepherd’s crook. It is engraved with “N.R” over “T”. This is the mark of Nathanial Rothschild, the first Baron Rothschild, who live from 1840 to 1915. The spoon is English and dates from c.1880. Originally it would have been tinned all over but this has now been removed, revealing the copper beneath.  It is in excellent condition.
