A small, French copper cider measure. This shape of jug originates in Northern France and this one dates from c.1880. It is made from a heavy gauge of copper, which has a slightly planished finish, and it has a hollow, tubular handle. Filling the jug to the lower section just above the handle, gave the desired measurement of cider. It is in very good condition, but the tinning, to the interior is almost totally gone, so it is now only for decorative purposes.
