An unusually small, French copper grain measure dating from c.1860. Grain measures came in all sizes, each one holding a specific measure of grain, but small examples are quite uncommon. This example is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper and the riveted base adds a decorative element to the piece. There are hollow copper handles to either side. It is in excellent condition and the tinning, to the interior, is still in good condition.
