Code: H21072
A very unusual shaped, large French copper jug. This has a hollow handle to the side with an extra handle to the top which is attached by a long, copper, strap fitting. It was probably used for collecting water from the well. The top handle could be suspended from a rope to be dipped into the well. It is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1860. It is a delightful shape which would be an excellent decorative feature in a kitchen or conservatory or simply used for flowers. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 38cm. Diameter 37cm. Width, including handle, 31cm.
