A large, French copper water carrier. Due to the shaping of the spout this was probably made for carrying hot water to the bath tub, rather that as a watering can, and it is a shape which we have not seen before. It is well, made from an extremely heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1880. Although not originally for plants, it would make a fabulous feature in a conservatory. It is in very good condition, with just a little marking to the copper and a few very tiny dents, all consistent with use.
