An unusual copper basting spoon with a double hook to the end of the handle. This would have been made as a general kitchen spoon, for basting meat etc. It is made from quite a substantial gauge of copper and it dates from c.1890.It is different in that it has a double hook to the end of the handles that you can hang it either way around. It doesn't have any manufacturers marks and, going by its' slightly primitive style, was probably blacksmith made. It is in very good condition although the spoon is now thinning with use.
