A Victorian bread knife with a carved wooden handle. This is the lower knife in the image of two. It can be seen individually in the other images. The handle is well carved with barley and the steel blade is engraved 'Bread Knife' within a fancy, engraved, cartouche. The piece dates from c.1880 and is in very good condition. There is just very slight pitting to the blade, from use.
