A Victorian copper mould made by Benhams. This design of mould is known as a 'Belgrave' pattern. It is stamped with an orb and cross which was the symbol used by Benhams. Beneath this is a workman's mark in the shape of a flower. It dates from c.1870 and is made from a substantial gauge of copper. There are a couple of small dents, commensurate with age and use, but otherwise it is in very good condition. The tinning to the interior, although slightly worn, is still usable.
