A nineteenth century, copper ice cream mould. This is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benham’s above the pattern number ’539’. To the opposite side is a workman’s mark in the shape of a radiating sun. Originally it would have had a lid and a screw in brass foot. These are missing so it is now purely decorative and could not be used. It is made from a substantial gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. The design is in the form of three tiers of leaves. It is in very good condition.
