A super quality, 19th century, oval copper, fancy border mould. This is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams above the pattern number “609”. To the opposite end is a small, workman’s mark in the shape of a circle. The mould is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c,.1870. The design consists of ten reeded columns and this would turn out very well. It is in very good condition and the interior has been re-tinned quite recently so it can be used.
