A Victorian copper mould made by Benhams. This is a very attractive design with a series of hearts around the top. It is stamped with an orb and cross which was the symbol used by Benhams. Beneath this is a pattern number '135' and the opposite end is a workman's mark in the shape of a cross in a circle. It dates from c.1870 and is made from a substantial gauge of copper. A small hole has been pierced in the rim, probably so that the mould could be hung, but otherwise it is in very good condition. The tinning to the interior has been removed.
