Engraved game pie mould

A good quality, French copper, game pie mould. This is well made, from quite a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1870. It doesn’t bear a makers mark but it is engraved with a crown above a large letter ‘F’. This tells us that it once belonged to French nobility. The design is quite simple, with fluted sides. The mould hinges on one side and the other side is held together by a long, brass pin. It is in very good condition but the tinning, to the interior, is worn.
