A fabulous, and rare, 19th century, French copper mould depicting a cockerel with its’ foot raised on a ball. This is very well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1870. The design is one which we have never seen before. It is extremely well modelled, with very good depth, and super quality moulding. There are no manufacturers marks which is surprising for a mould of this quality but it is engraved with the initials “C.L” which would relate to a previous owner. It is in excellent condition but the tinning, to the interior, is worn.
Dimensions: Diameter 16.3cm. Height 12.5cm.
