A super looking, large, 19th century, French copper, cake mould. This is quite an elaborate design for a mould of this size as often the larger moulds for cakes were slightly simpler. This doesn’t have any factory marks but it dates from c.1870 and it is made from quite a heavy gauge of copper.
Condition: Originally there was a ring attached to the rim of the mould. This has now broken, leaving just a part of the fitting. A small hole has been pierced in the rim and the tinning to the interior is worn. Otherwise the condition is very good.
