A good quality, large, Victorian copper, two tiered mould. This is marked with the orb and cross symbol used by Benham’s. It is also stamped with a workman’s mark in the shape of a cross within a circle, and the pattern number ’253’. It is made from quite a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1870. There is very slight denting to the mould, consistent with use, and the tinning, to the interior, is worn through on the high points.
