Large Copper Kugelhopf Mould

Large Copper Kugelhopf Mould

Code: H21083

SOLD

A large, 19th century copper cake mould. This shape of mould was made for moulding Kugelhopf, which is a semisweet cake, usually of yeast-levened dough, containing raisins, citron and nuts. This mould is either French or German and it dates from c.1880. It is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it has a castellated seam around the top. Often the designs of these moulds were quite simple, just being fluted, but this is a very attractive and more ornate geometric design. It is in very good condition and the tinning, to the interior, is still in very good, usable condition.

Dimensions: Diameter 26cm. Depth 10.8cm.
