A good quality, Victorian copper mould with a chain link design to the top. This mould is marked with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams and a pattern number '631'. To the opposite end is a workman's mark in the shape of a radiating sun. It is also stamped 'J.M. SAUNDERS DUBLIN', these would have been the retailers, and it is engraved with the initials 'E.T.' These would have been the initials of a previous owner. It is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1880.It is in excellent condition and this form of mould looks equally good either hanging or sitting on a shelf.
