A rare, 19th century copper mould with a moon and star to the top. This is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams above a pattern number ‘557’. It is also stamped with a registered design number “RGNo311220” and to the opposite side is a workman’s mark in the shape for a heart. It is made from a substantial gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. This is a design that we have never seen before and it is exceptionally well moulded. It is in excellent condition and the interior is still in very good, bright, usable condition.
