A lovely quality, 19th century, French copper mould with a game bird to the top. This is marked with the pattern number “373” above a cockerel. The cockerel is the mark of the French company Letang and the mould, which is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and has a castellated seam up the side, dates from c.1860. The bird is surrounded by foliage and flowers and the design is extremely well modelled, with excellent detail. The mould is very slightly misshapen to the top, on the rim near to the birds’ tail, but otherwise it in in very good condition and the tinning, to the interior is still in usable condition.
