A good quality, 19th. century, French copper egg bowl. This is marked “E. DEHILLERIN 18 RUE COQUILLIERE”. It is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1870. The copper has a very slightly planished finish but this is only evident on the interior of the bowl. The exterior is well finished and very smooth. There is a heavy brass ring handle, attached by a simple copper fitting, so that the bowl can hang when not in use. The bowl is in excellent, usable condition.
