A fine quality, pink lustre jug. This is very lightly potted, in creamware, which is then covered in a pink, splash lustre glaze. It is a simple, but pleasing, baluster shape. This type of lustreware was produced by Wedgwood but it was also made by various factories in Staffordshire, Northern England and also South Wales in the early 19th century. This example is unmarked and it dates from c.1820.
