A large, copper lustre jug moulded with highland dancers. This is marked “ALLERTONS LONGTON ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1900. During the end of the 19th century and first half of the 20th century Allertons produced lustreware reminiscent of almost a century earlier but the quality was quite different. This jug is heavily potted and the moulding is quite crude. Some of the moulded detail is coloured with blue enamel and the jug is both decorative and usable. It is in excellent condition.
