A Staffordshire, pearlware jug with hand painted, pink lustre decoration. This style of decoration became known, generically, as the "pink lustre house pattern" although often the scenes were of churches, castles, mills and other types of buildings. This example is decorated with castles to either side and it dates from c.1820. It is in excellent condition and the lustre is still very bright.
