An early 19th century, pearlware jug with silver lustre decoration. Silver lustre glazes where produced by adding platinum oxides to the glaze. This piece is painted with vine leaves and barley and it dates from c.1820. There is a feint hairline in the base, but this only shows on the underside of the jug, and there is slight rubbing of the glaze to the rim and the handle.
