An interesting, sprig moulded pearlware jug with lustre and enamel decoration. This jug has a central band of pink, splash lustre onto which are sprig moulded bouquets of flowers and a classical urn. These are highlighted in bright, polychrome enamels. The spout is moulded in the form of Bacchus and there is copper lustre banding to the base, the rim and either side of the pink lustre band.
It is English and dates from c.1820.
There is a chip to the spout and a further chip, with a short crack running from it, to one side of the rim.
