A small, early 19th century, silver resist lustre jug on a buff ground. This is decorated with birds and foliage. The design is painted onto the jug, using a mixture of oils, and the jug is then dipped in the silver lustre glaze. The oils resist the lustre, leaving the design showing through in the base colour.
