A nineteenth century, Sunderland Lustre frog mug. This is potted in pearlware and it dates from c.1835. It is transfer printed with “THE MARINERS COMPASS” and this is then coloured in green and red enamels and pink lustre. To the interior is a large, speckled, dark brown frog. It is in very good condition, with no damage or restoration, but there is slight crazing to the glaze overall.
