A large, 19th century, French wooden madelaine for slicing vegetables. This is an unusual, but very practical item and would have been made for use in a large chateau or possibly for a restaurant. It dates from c.1880, the thickness of the cut is adjustable and the piece could still be used. It is in very good condition.
