Carved butter dish

A very attractive, Victorian butter dish with a carved wooden surround and a glass inset. The surround to this dish is very deeply carved, in beechwood, with flowers and leaves. The carving is well detailed and it is in excellent condition. It dates from c.1880. The glass dish, to the centre, which is original to the piece, is made from pressed glass and this is also in good condition.
