A fantastic, large marble mortar with a double ended boxwood pestle. This is a most unusual shaped and coloured mortar. The marble has a slight pinkish tinge with attractive veining in varying shades of grey. It comes from Southern Spain and dates from c.1830. The pestle is turned from boxwood and has a lovely dark patina. Both pieces are in excellent condition.
