A nineteenth century kitchen knife with a handle in the shape of a leg. This piece is very well made, in a combination of steel, brass and horn, and it dates from c.1860. The handle comprises of shaped horn which is attached to the steel by brass rivets, and the boot is cast in steel. The blade has reduced somewhat, due to being sharpened over the years. There is some pitting to the steel, from use, but other than that it is in very good condition.
