A small, 19th century, cast iron coffee mill made by Peugeot. This is the smaller one in the image and, from the image, you can see how it compares in size. It is the smallest size of this style of coffee mill that Peugeot made and they are relatively uncommon. It dates from c.1880. It is marked, in the casting, ‘PEUGEOT FRERES BREVETES S.G.D.G.’ and it is also marked with the size number ’00’ and the letter ‘A’. It has a brass cover, and a brass fitting to the top, and the handle and draw are wooden. On the front of the draw is a small brass plaque which is marked ‘BREVETES S.G.D.G. DEPOSE’. The interior of the top section is enamelled and the whole piece has been re-conditioned so it is fully working, and is in excellent, usable condition.
