A 19th century, carved wooden knife sheath. This would have hung on a chef’s belt and it was designed for containing knives, so that they were kept handy for when they were needed. This one is carved from beechwood and it dates from c.1890. It is nicely shaped, with the top section being six sided. It is in very good condition and it could still be used.
