Pineapple Mould

Code: E18097

W: 11cm (4.3")H: 5cm (2")D: 11cm (4.3")

An unusual, early 19th century, pewter ice cream mould. This mould is in two parts and the interior is moulded with a very well detailed pineapple which is surrounded by raspberries. Usually pewter moulds of this type are much deeper and they are often in three parts but this is a particularly shallow example and it dates from c.1820. The pineapple was the Georgian symbol of welcome. The pewter has a very dark patina, as one would expect with a piece of this period, and the interior, although dark, is still in clean, usable condition.
