A superb quality, 19th century, French crystal wine cooler or ice bucket with engraved decoration. This is made by Baccarat, from a very heavy crystal, and it dates from c.1860. It is beautifully engraved with a scene from Aesop’s Fable “The Wolf and the Lamb”. It shows the wolf and the lamb standing at the stream with trees and foliage to either side. The engraving is well detailed and fine quality and the piece is in excellent condition.
