A nineteenth century steel meat cleaver with a handle in the shape of a leg. The wooden handle is attached to the cleaver by aluminium rivets and this gives the impression of an attractive, booted leg. It dates from c.1880. There is a crack in the wood on one side of the handle by the heel, and there is also very slight staining to the wood and pitting to the steel.
