Unusual Copper Mould by Jones Bros.

Unusual Copper Mould by Jones Bros.

Code: J22444

SOLD

A very unusual, 19th century copper mould. This is marked “JONES BROS  DOWN ST. W.” and it dates from c.1880. It is made from quite a heavy gauge of copper and originally it would have been tinned all over as there are still slight traces of tin left on the exterior of the mould. It would probably have been used for moulding a cake which would have then been used as a stand for a further shaped cake. It is in excellent condition and the tinning, although now quite dark, is still in good enough condition for the mould to be used.

Dimensions: Diameter 19.2cm. Height 8cm.
