Unusual, French Copper Jug

Code: K22985

SOLD

A very unusual shaped, early 19th century, French copper jug. This dates from c.1830 and was probably blacksmith made for use in a home or a tavern. The tall, baluster shaped jug has a long spout, a hollow handle and a stepped base. The copper has a slightly planished finish and there are castellated seams. It is in good condition but the tinning, to the interior, is very worn so it could no longer be used for liquids for consumption but it would make a very attractive vase.

Dimensions: Height 27.5cm. Width 24.5 Depth 12.8cm.
