Spiral Copper Ice cream Mould

Spiral Copper Ice cream Mould

Code: K22741

SOLD

A nineteenth century, English copper, spiral ice cream bombe mould and cover. This is marked “JONES BROS. DOWN ST. W.” to the rim. It is made from quite a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1890. This would have been lined with ice cream, the centre filled with a fruit or chocolate sauce and then topped with ice cream. When it was turned out and cut into the sauce would pour from the centre. It is in very good condition, and the tinning is still in usable condition. The brass foot is a replacement, and the shape is not quite right, but it does render the piece usable.

Dimensions: Height 13cm. Diameter 10cm.
