A nineteenth century, sycamore breadboard carved with the words “Give us this day our daily Bread”. The carving is well worn, consistent with age and repeated use, and the board has a lovely, pale, honey coloured patina. It is in very good condition, with just the usual knife marks from use. These are evident on both the face and the underside of the board as boards were often turned over for use so as not to put all the wear on the carved side.
