A  late 17th century, cast brass, pierced skimmer with fishtail end to handle. This type of skimmer was used in the kitchens, for skimming stocks and preserves, and also in the dairy for skimming cream. This example is cast in one piece and has a worn makers mark, resembling a Fleur de Lys, at the end of the handle near to the skimmer.

It is in excellent condition.
