Fig or melon mould?

Fig or melon mould?

Code: G20170

SOLD

A miniature copper mould with a ribbed fruit to the top. This is a very simple design with the fruit to the top and plain sides. I’m not sure if the fruit is supposed to be a fig or a melon but there is definitely some artistic licence. It is made from quite a light gauge of copper, is French and it dates from c.1890. The rim of the mould has been turned and a hole has been drilled close to the rim so that it can be hung. It is in good condition and the tinning, to the interior, is still in good bright condition so it could be used.

Dimensions: Length 7.3cm. Width 6.4cm. Depth 2.5cm.
