A set of 6, 19th century, French canale moulds. This shape of mould is used for making the small cakes called canales which are still very popular all over France. The cakes are best made in copper moulds and the older moulds are always a much better quality and heavier gauge of copper than the new ones. These date from c.1890. They are made from a heavy gauge of copper and they are all in excellent condition. The tinning, to the interiors, is still in good, usable condition. Each one measures 5.5cm. diameter by 5.2cm. high.
