19th Century Copper Charlotte Mould

19th Century Copper Charlotte Mould

Code: Z51008

SOLD

A 19th century, English copper charlotte mould. As the name suggests, this shape of mould was used for turning out a charlotte so it would be lined with sponge fingers and the the centre would be filled with a fruit puree or custard. It can also, of course, have many other uses. This example dates from c.1880 and it is made from quite a heavy gauge of copper. It is engraved with the initials “C.H.M” which would be the initials of a previous owner. It is in good condition and the tinning, to the interior, is still in very good, usable condition.

Dimensions: Diameter 11cm. Height 9.7cm.
