A Victorian butter dish with a carved wood surround and a cut glass insert. This dates from c.1890. The surround to this dish is carved, in beechwood, with the word ‘Butter’ and long, stylised leaves. The carving is quite deep but there is slight damage to the ‘u’ which can be seen in the image. There are two small chips to the rim of the glass insert. The piece comes with a small, plated butter knife.
