Dimensions:
An unusual shaped, nineteenth century, French copper pie plate. This could be used either as a large pie plate or gratin, or a small baking dish for roasts or fish. It dates from c.1870, and is well made, from a quite a heavy gauge of copper. It has a fine, brass hanging loop so, when not in use, it can also be decorative. To the left of the hanging loop it is stamped with a letter ‘R’. This would have been the initial of a previous owner. It is in very good condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
