A nineteenth century, steel leather workers tool with a turned, wooden handle. This is marked “JOSEPH DIXON WARRANTED” and it dates from c.1880. Joseph Dixon, tool makers, had a long history in the Walsall area and the company started in 1848. There are a number of splits in the wooden handle and the brass collar is also split. There is pitting to the steel, from age and use.
