A steel ice or sugar cleaver in the shape of a fox. This is French and it dates from c.1880. It is very well shaped and the handle, which forms the foxes brush or tail, is made from brass and attached by copper rivets. There is pitting to the blade, consistent with age and use but other than that the piece is in excellent condition.
