A nineteenth century, herb or vegetable chopper with a shaped steel blade and a simple, wooden handle. The blade to this chopper is quite primitively formed, with three teardrop shaped cut outs. It is made from cast steel and the handle is carved from oak. It is English and it dates from c.1880.
There are a number of woodworm holes in the handle and there is slight pitting to the blade consistent with age and use.
